Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving ends S’ First Holiday of Her Life Ever Tour. So, I let her go out with a bang.

First Thanksgiving meal – loved the stuffing, turkey – not so much

First time to try pumpkin pie – she loved it! Who wouldn’t?

First pedicure, given by her unni!

First time to try on a wig – random, I know, but this is what my baby would look like with a full head of hair!

The husband and I were given the rare gift of a date night. Or double date night, rather. It was the second time we’ve gone out without S since she came along, the first being our anniversary dinner this past Sept. Sounds kind of crazy to actually write that. It doesn’t seem like it’s true, but somehow it is.

My sister and brother-in-law graciously invited us to the UT game – the seats were awesome and we had a blast. Even though UT lost. I didn’t tell our hosts this information, but I think we are the UT curse. Every time we go see a game in Austin, they lose. I can’t explain their other losses, but now my brother-in-law will probably never take us to a game again. We had fun though!

Between all the talking and cooking and eating and football and ridiculous black friday shopping, it’s easy to lose sight of what this holiday is about – and that’s giving thanks. Though I sometimes forget, I have everything I truly want and need and I am so thankful for the love and health of our family and friends, for the roof over our heads, for the food in our stomachs. Most of all, this year, I am so thankful to have been blessed with our beautiful daughter, who has brought us more joy than we ever thought possible. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
